Fresh Fig Salad with Balsamic Glaze & Unexpected Cheddar
Don’t get me wrong I love spending $16.00 on a salad and complaining about how it will never taste as good if I make it at home, but hey – at least we can try right?!
I absolutely love different combinations of fresh fruit and cheese in my salads so when I saw these gorgeous fresh figs at Trader Joe’s AND finally got the new Shredded Unexpected Cheddar, I knew they would be a perfect topping to a salad aka #relationshipgoals. And while we’re on the topic of Trader Joe’s I bought every single ingredient used in this salad there. Love you TJs.
On to the recipe! This is a SUPER simple salad and you can add and remove anything you like, it’s your life do you, boo! Keep scrolling for the video recipe!
BEST WHEN: you want a fancy salad without breaking the bank
TIME: 10 minutes
INTENSITY: Easy Peasy
INGREDIENTS:
Butter Lettuce
Diced Green Onion
Sliced Cucumber
Fresh figs, halved
Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Unexpected Cheddar from Trader Joe’s for the win!)
Orange Muscat Champagne Vinegar
Olive Oil
Salt and pep
Drizzle of Balsamic Glaze
DIRECTIONS:
I didn’t do anything fancy for this salad, I didn’t even make a dressing! Just assemble the salad ingredients and drizzle the vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper and balsamic glaze over the top. Boom, delish!
If you want to get a bit more sophisticated and make a dressing, this salad would be amazing with my Balsamic Vinaigrette.
